RIBCRAFT To Build Alloy Patrol RIB for Jamestown Harbormaster

Marblehead, MA, July 26, 2006 - RIBCRAFT, the United States manufacturer of rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) for law enforcement, safety professionals, and military agencies, today announced the award of a contract to build an aluminum hulled patrol craft for the town of Jamestown, Rhode Island.

The 21’ RIBCRAFT 6.5 will serve as Jamestown Harbormaster’s primary patrol craft for safety patrols, response scenarios, and basic harbor enforcement. Equipped with fore and aft tow posts, T-top w/ drop down sides for all weather protection, and an upgraded ruggedizing package for the heavy duty Hypalon tubes, this boat will allow the Harbormaster to respond to virtually any incident. The 6.5 makes for an excellent response craft, capable of reaching speeds in excess of 45 knots with the single 150HP Honda four stroke.

After a competitive bidding and evaluation process, the town selected RIBCRAFT for their primary patrol craft based on past performance, design parameters, build quality & overall performance. To meet the alloy hull requirement set forth by the town, RIBCRAFT will build an all welded aluminum hull featuring the same trademark RIBCRAFT design characteristics of a deep V hull, aggressive bow sheer, and full length lifting strakes as the standard RIBCRAFT 6.5 fiberglass hull. The town is scheduled to take delivery of the RIB in late 2006.
