RIBCRAFT Delivers Search and Rescue Craft

Within the first week of taking delivery of the new RIB, the town wasted no time in responding to its first call. During one of the training sessions with their new rescue craft, the exercise became reality when they responded to a call of a high school student stranded on a sandbar in waste deep water while on a school outing to Plum Island. With the early signs of hypothermia setting in when they arrived, the firefighters quickly pulled the victim from the 60 degree water. “I’m glad we had it”, responded Lt. Jeff French when asked about the RIBCRAFT 5.85, “it was good to put the boat to the test”.
