Marblehead, MA - August 15, 2005 – The Marblehead based designer and manufacturer of commercial grade rigid inflatable boats (RIB) for military, safety professionals, yacht clubs, and recreational boaters, recently conducted a safe boating course in Marblehead Harbor for their local customers.
The RIB operator course focused on boat handling and covered the basics of seamanship. The four hour class was divided between classroom instruction and on the water drills. Participants used their own RIBCRAFT RIBs for the on water portion of the course and covered the fine points of docking, performed several man overboard drills, and learned how to safely and effectively operate their RIB at high speeds. The highlight for many of the participants was perfecting high speed power turns.
RIBCRAFT strongly encourages all their customers, regardless of who they are, to enroll in a safe boating or RIB operators training course. The company has partnered with training professionals and safe boating organizations to offer the necessary training to their customers, whether they’re a local fire department, marine patrol, or weekend boater.
The course held in Marblehead was conducted by Ocean Rescue Systems of Portland Maine.
