Hull Design
The RIBCRAFT™ design incorporates a deep "V" hull with
full-length lifting strakes and spray rails. The high bow sheer
with a generous dead rise prevents the bow from stuffing
in large seas. The multiple lifting strakes improve handling
by eliminating skidding that often occurs during sharp maneuvers
at high speeds. Additionally, the combination of the concave
sheer shape and spray rails deflect the water down and away
from the cockpit.
To
insure overall structural integrity, RIBCRAFT has designed
a complex stringer system of longitudinal and transverse composite
stringers to eliminate hull flexing. This system contributes
greatly to the boats overall strength and rigidity without
needlessly increasing the weight. Fuel tanks are housed below
the deck to keep the weight at the lowest point in the boat.
By moving the center of gravity down, handling improves greatly.
In addition, this frees up space in the console for storage.
Tube
Design
Unlike many RIB manufacturers who simply attach
an inflatable collar as an "add-on" to
the hull, RIBCRAFT incorporates the tube into the overall hull
design. By optimizing both the tube and hull's attributes into
a single design, RIBCRAFT insures they function as one solid
unit, a RIB. "RIBCRAFT's tubes form a more pointed and raised
bow to increase the overall performance in heavy seas..."RIBCRAFT designs their tubes to rest just above
the waterline from the aft quarter section forward, to provide
greater stability at rest and improved performance while
underway. With the tubes designed to skim across the surface
of the water, they provide stability while minimizing drag.
Having the tubes just above the water also helps to deflect
spray down and away resulting in a very dry ride. Additionally,
unlike some RIB manufacturer's bows that have a squared off
blunt tube, RIBCRAFT's tubes form a more pointed and raised
bow to increase the overall performance in heavy seas by
slicing through the waves and pushing them out, away from
the boat.
