Hull Construction

Built to exacting commercial specifications and standards, RIBCRAFT’s quality hull construction incorporates a composite system of the thickest hand-laid fiberglass with an integral stringer system for the ultimate in strength, rigidity, and hull integrity, without needlessly increasing the weight. The multiple layered, woven fabric hull benefits from a combination of technologically advanced and hand-laying techniques. The calculated full width stringer system is overlaid and tabbed with a combination of chop strand and woven mats. All of the overlays extend out across the bottom of the hull providing extra reinforcement at all critical areas. Each hull receives the same individual detailed attention as the one before. RIBCRAFT uses only the highest quality fittings available. Twenty-gauge stainless steel is used throughout for all fixtures, from grab handles to seat rests. The stainless steel bow towing eye has a tensile strength of 15,400 pounds and all other deck hardware is extra reinforced to withstand the highest of strains. The RIBCRAFT construction method represents a proven process that exceeds the requirements of our designs. RIBCRAFT builds the toughest, strongest, and longest lasting RIBs in the world, designed to withstand the harshest of applications. You don’t need to witness a drop test to understand RIBCRAFT’s solid, quality construction, simply tap the hull – you’ll hear it.

Tube Construction

"Hypalon® has incredible resistance to abrasions, chemicals such as fuel oils, mechanical stresses, UV damage, and extreme temperatures."To insure the highest quality, RIBCRAFT™ tubes are made using Hypalon®, the leading material in the industry. As the only proven and time-tested material, Hypalon® has incredible resistance to abrasions, chemicals such as fuel oils, mechanical stresses, UV damage, and extreme temperatures. Furthermore, Hypalon® is easily repaired in the slight chance it punctures or tears. Using 1100 or 1670 Dtex Hypalon®, RIBCRAFT tubes are cut to exacting patterns, with all seams carefully overlapped and double taped internally and externally. Every stress point is double up including the aft section of all tubes providing extra reinforcement for beachings or similar activities. All tubes have a heavy-duty rub strake designed to take heavy abuse and protect the tubes. Once assembled, RIBCRAFT tests every tube to the strictest standards before installation, resulting in the most airtight and resilient tubes available. All RIBCRAFT tubes come with a minimum of five independent air chambers, each with pressure relief valves. These valves protect the tubes by releasing excess pressure that can occur during maneuvering operations in the open sea, an impact with waves or obstacles at high speeds, or an excess of pressure during inflation. With safety in mind, RIBCRAFT permanently attaches the tubes in two locations to the hull using an integral hinge system designed to absorb shock, minimize abrasion, and prevent accidental detachment. For some applications, RIBCRAFT offers a mechanically attached system. The people at RIBCRAFT truly understand RIBs and their many applications. With considerable experience, they offer sound, trusted advice with the objective of helping you design the boat that’s right for you.
